How to Install Piping Systems

When tackling home renovations, understanding how to install pipes or handle plumbing can seem like an impossible task. Hiring a contractor is always an option if you feel too uncomfortable addressing the project yourself, however, they can cost a pretty penny. Learning how to install a piping system under the sink can be the first step in teaching you how to handle these types of repairs.

The first thing you will want to do is make sure you have the right supplies available. You will need a piece of PVC pipe, a marvel connector, a P-Trap kit, and a tailpiece extension.

Inside the P-Trap kit, there will be washers and nuts that will help to tighten the unions, as well as combat leaks.

To start the process, use the PVC pipe to fit with the drain tee in the wall. This will create what is referred to as a stub out. The next step is attaching the marvel connector to the stub out. Make sure the side with the twist is facing toward you when you attach it, so the P-Trap can be attached to it.
