There are times that you just need to be somewhere, but you either cannot or do not want to drive the vehicle that you use for everyday transportation, and walking just seems a bit out of the question. What you need is something that you can hop in and drive short distances, sometimes not on normal roads. What you might need is something like a golf cart. Golf carts and other similar utility carts can be quite handy to have around for a variety of reasons, and not just for golfers.
Why consider a selection of personal utility vehicles?
There are a number of reasons why you might want to consider looking at some all-terrain vehicles, or ATVs, golf carts, or similar vehicles. Perhaps you are looking to get around a golf course for a game of golf or for a special event like a wedding or fundraiser. Maybe you spend quite a bit of time on the beach or on the trails of the forest behind your home. For anyone who is looking to spend some time in different areas of one larger property, having a smaller, low maintenance vehicle to shuttle back and forth can be invaluable, particularly if you are trying to save time or energy.
Finding the perfect type of cart
Heading to a nearby beach or around the neighborhood? Don’t waste the gas you’ll need to get to work. Hop in your ATV or golf cart. Have others with you? There are golf carts that can carry as many as 10 passengers. The most important thing to do when you think about what kind of small vehicle you want to park in your garage is what you need that will best fit your lifestyle. You can find a number of pre-owned golf carts for sale, no matter the price range you are hoping to stay in. Used vehicles should obviously be more affordable, but if you are hoping to find a brand new one, you could find one for as low as $3,000, or if you want something more extravagant you could check out the luxury models that reach prices of around $30,000.
Narrowing down the selection
Once you have a basic idea of what you are interested in, it is time to think about specifics as far as functionality and style, where you will be able to drive your new vehicle, what traffic laws apply, and so on. In general, most golf carts are allowed to operate on the roads where a posted speed limit is no more than 35 miles per hour. This of course can vary from state to state or district to district. Many of these smaller vehicles have top speeds ranging between 15 to 25 miles per hour, and of course there are some people who choose to tweak the engines a bit as well, to meet their individual needs or preferences. A typical golf cart is about four feet wide, six feet from tire to top, and eight feet from taillights to hood ornament. Other specifications or alterations can be made to fit your particular use.
There are plenty of places to go that may not exactly require the use of a vehicle, but could be made more enjoyable with the use of something like a golf cart. They are small enough that they will not take up too much space for storage or parking, and they are efficient and easy to maneuver. And once you find one that speaks to you, owning one such machine will make so many different aspects of your life both easier and more fun. Whether you are equipped with your personal, custom car to get from hole to hole on the golf course, or you are providing transportation for guests at a special event, or you just want to tool around the neighborhood to say hello to neighbors, it is hard to find a down side to owning a golf cart.
